We maintain a very lean and cost-effective operation.  We are often asked how we cover our costs while asking for so little in fees.  The answer is that we don't.  What we charge is just enough to purchase the materials we give to couples in providing our services.  All other overhead is covered by generous volunteer efforts, in-kind gifts from Community Mediation Project and the faith-based community as well as financial support from those who value the contributions of our programs.

We are also asked why we don't just charge enough to cover everything.  The answer is twofold.  First, we believe philosophically that ability to pay should not be what determines access to quality programs.  Rather than risk revealing whether someone is able or unable to pay for our services, we simply charge the same low fee for everyone.  Regarding Building Healthy Marriages, access is the same for everyone whether they are rich or poor.

At a more pragmatic level, we never want our fees to be a barrier to participation.  So even as low as they are, they are on a sliding scale to whatever folks can afford without imposing a hardship.  While we require them to pay whatever they can that will fit their budget, we try to maintain a small scholarship fund that pays the difference between what a couple can afford and the actual fees for the services.  That being the case, those who can afford to pay more are asked to do so.

If you agree with our philosophy of service and perceive some value in what we provide, your tax-decuctible gifts will go far in helping us to continue.  Checks or money-orders made out to Building Healthy Marriages can be sent to us at PO Box 1901, Parker, CO 80134.  If you would like to give via credit card, click the PayPal "Donate" button below and follow the instructions.  If it is more convenient, you can call us directly at 303-881-5255 to arrange automatically recurring credit card donations.

"Please know that we all sincerely hope that BHM will be able to continue providing services to couples.  Achieving maximum health for our Weld County families is worth investing in those efforts.  We as a Board appointed Council of the County Board of Commissioners will be very grateful for whatever you are willing to provide for BHM."
